    Platypus Bay - Late Report

Yep a little late... this report was from 14 August 05... headed up to Wathumba for the weekend and fished a number of areas over the weekend for a variety of species. It was an interesting trip as compared to last year they whales were still not in big numbers by this stage (although now they are thick as grinners).

On the Saturday I went back to the ole faithfull spots where I was lucky enough to get some good snapper last year, however the area was covered with small and large mouth nannygai just below legal size. Every drop would produce a nannygai - undersize by 5cm... so the decison was made to try a few neww spots. Well the exploration paid dividends with 2 snapper weighing in at 4 & 5.5 kg gilled and gutted. Just before leaving the trevally was caught on light gear and took 45 minutes to land.

All in all, great trip, fish were a bonus
