the catch
First snapper/squire bag limit in the bay.
First Mud Island Snapper.
Well,,, I think it is a Snapper. 53cm is pretty good for the bay. Sure complained a lot with lots of zings of the reel. Was a very happy camper when I boated it.
The others were pretty good size as well with the smallest at 40cm.
None of the usual crew could make it so went for a run on my own. Shame you missed the action
Not many boats out there. Was a bit lumpy on the way out on dusk, but then eased to be flat for the run home. James, I noticed your going fishing post so tried to call you up on 96. Did you end up going?
Cheech
ps: not sure why the colours came out so crap. Oh well.
well done craig thats a nice snappa. good effort to get a bag limit of nice fish in the bay.
cheers phil
BTW its october . you;ve named the pictures september
Bring on the Marlin!!!
Noooooo......... !
Now i am peeved - #i couldn't go because of work committments #
Good onya Cheech - you're persistence is starting to pay off mate.
Don't let others like big fishing legend vertico rain on your parade #>
He who tried to fish the bay and gave up.........
Makes my blood boil when someone else knocks anothers catch in the bay,
whether its big bream, whiting or a feed of squire.
At least it only cost you 15 bucks in fuel , and besides add the kilos together and you have 1 #- 7-8 kg snapper !
Once again well done Craig,
regards Darren

nice snapper there matee good to see someone with a nice feed and smile to match
Some nice pansize fish there mate.. not bad for the bay.. top work
Tim
p.s. Verts.. you better catch some snapper soon mate.. so ya can backup ur comments
Nice fish cheech and as the others have said its not the size that counts the satisfaction you gain out of it, there is no skill whatsoever to catch big nobbies some day and youve caught your share regardless
before writing off verts comments as scarcastic though hed be the first to admit he hasnt bagged out once all season, comments can be taken the wrong way sometimes no need to jump the gun
Thanks for the comments guys. No I didn't take Vertigo's comments as sarcastic. I would call it a squiry snapper as well. Either a big squire or a small snapper. If I was offshore I would call it a big squire. In the bay,,, I was calling it a small snapper.
Whatever it is,,, I am still after my first Mud nobby though. The challenge continues. As someone else said recently,,, here fishy fishy fishy..
Cheech
Good work Cheech.......You must have been in the right place last night because we looked around on the western side of mud but not much luck until morning.
Mate its a great feeling when that big snapper makes the reel scream and then you see colour and you know been worth the effort.
Hope you nail a bigger snapper soon.
Cheers Brent
Good on you Cheech. Good to see that you put a feed together.
planning the next onslaught 6.5m Profish

Nice feed alright. What did you catch em on Cheech? Plastics or smellies?
Well done mate . The best quality eating at that size.
Chanquetas, all on squid. I had a few other baits, but squid was what they were interested in.
