Mud Island Snapper on SP's

Awesome fish there Brent....we headed out about 10.00pm sat night...fished around Wello til about 4.00am & then headed straight to Mud...got 2 nice Squire at Wello 39 & 41 cm's & about 15 around the 30-35cm mark..didnt get much of any quality at Mud Is...saw heaps of Pelagic action north of Mud..Beautiful night/day to be on the water...
Happy to say ALL fish released..even the 2 keeper squire...cheers,James

Beefaman i was using 10lb braid with a 12lb leader........Jim got blowin away with his 8 lb leader.
Rat kingy sounds like fun mate.........How big was it?
We thought about Wello but i was keen on trying Mud because i have seen some bigger fish caught on plastics from this area.
I'M SURE THERE ARE SOME MONSTERS LURKING.
Just need to have the gear that can handle a good fish.

Kingy was about 35cm long, so not that big, but certainly a lot of fun!!
I am sure there a bigger fishies hanging around in some of the ares. Haven't really given Mud a good going over.....but there will be a day!!
