    20 kilo plus kingy.

Hi all, this fish was caught yesterday on a live slimie intended for another knobbie in 50 feet of water. Twenty minutes from the Brunswick Bar. Reel-Akuma Epix 80. 10 kilo line. 10-15 kg livefibre rod. The fight only lasted 40 minutes, which for a fish this size in shallow water was amazing. The fish was photographed and released. I estimated the weight of over twenty kilo, maybe twenty five. Full photo in November BNB Newspaper.

if ya gunna insist on catching fish like that you'll need a boat with more beam so you can stand back for the pics

    Re: 20 kilo plus kingy.

Hi all, Dont worry phil I'll get you out there soon.
Yes no-wind, its the biggest I've seen around here for many years. Although the divers tell me quite often they spot them at that size.
Youngfisho- yes the Okuma epix 80 handled it no worries. I've just bought 5 new reels through ebay the same but with baitrunner feature. Should be great for mackerel and snapper.
Yes Brian, those bigger 'things' out wide are there but the current is making it a bit hard. I think even Dale could have landed this kingy, it played very clean and mostly on the surface. Have Dales arms shrank back to normal yet after his last trip?
The new vessel is due mid to late November. Looks awesome. had a guy fly up from Jarvis bay yesterday to look at the 'Cavanbah'. Looks promising.
In general posts I'm starting another competition looking for a name for the new boat.
Banshee and pete, there are some good kingies out wide at the moment also, but this fella hit a live slimie while we were on the drift for snapper close to shore. The snapper were around the 4 kilo mark.
