lucky you put that on a landy mate. it would look a bit agricultural on a toyota

i had a mate who made one for his nissan out of 90mm pvc pipe (bloody tupperware) and it came up real good. suits the patrol well.

    D I Y Snorkle.

Here is a snorkle I made up out of 3 inch exhaust pipe and some other bits I had lying around the shed.
All up it cost under $150.
Dearest bit was the pick up tip. $50 dollars for a bit of plastic.(talk about mark up)
$400 for a new one, I looked at a second handy in the post for $100 and it was missing the tip and had a split in it.
I can't say it would be something I would screw to the side of a new 100 series but it looks at home on the side of a 20 yr old 75 series. Would even look at place on a defender but not the disco and hell no not the Rangie.(had to mention the landy boys or get shouted down LOL).

    1 mtr 3 inch straight $16
    1 45 degree mandrel bend.$22
    1 90 degree mandrel bend.$22
1 end of the pipe needs to be expanded for the attachment at the air box.

The air box needs the expanded pipe welded in for fitting the pick up tube.
The baffle was cut off and welded over the new intake.
Welding on the intake is hard as the material is very thin.
Block off the old intake with rubber and hose clamp.
    Paint flat black.

Hold ya horses there Rob I haven't finished yet.
Just chop a hole in the side of the gaurd. Don't get it wrong as it can be expensive to fix.
Lucky I had a few brown thinking ales before I worked the exact hole location out. (or just got the courage).
The hole is 3 1/4 inch and was elongated with die grinder. file would do.
I used a bit of fuel hose split down the middle and black silasticed it in place.
Painted the finished tube in charcoal hammer finish and it looks quite OK .
Like I said on an old truck the snorkle looks industrial but I wouldn't do it to a nice new truck.
    Cheers Kev. #
