    Re: Whos got what

    Hey Mick,

Do you ever notice that all these guys with Toyotas - especially those with Landcruisers - have heaps of "extras" on their cars like diff lockers or extra suspension to ensure better travel and to actually get to the place they're going.

I don't know why they don't go out and buy a Landrover off the shelf. Gets there in style with no added extras.

    Heh heh heh

And for all those observant posters - yes I have a winch - so far it's been used to rescue Landcruisers, Patrols, Hiluxes, Suzukis and Challangers - not one Landrover - seriously.

Mick, here is the link. Don't have any photos yet but it's been built up to look like the Lara Croft Tombraider vehicle.

    Re: Whos got what

Hey, Brett, the only option needed on the Landy was a " TOW HOOK ?

Bloody $60,000 car and no tow hook on the front, WTF ?

You did use the winch once to get a Landy out. Yours, when you had NO TOW HOOK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Re: Whos got what

Kerry, the tow cap of the Ute is 2,300 kgs with an auto box. The manual only handles 1,200kgs.

ReBait only goes 1,800 all up.

You'd be very surprized how easy the towing is in the Ute, probably due to the dual axle under ReBait.

Brett the landys would be good if they didn't break down so much.
They aren't towed out as much as they are towed home.
But landy owners love em so much it's not worth trying argue any different, LOL
    Cheers Kev.

    Re: Whos got what

Well at least one can usually fix a landrover with some fencing wire and a pair of pliers , try doing that with some of the "new" monstrosities.

    Cheers, Kerry.

    Re: Whos got what

Kerry you have obviously forgotten that current model Landrovers fall into the catagory of new monstrities as much as any.
And the ability to carry out the repairs as you have mentioned is still viable on current models as much as older.
    Cheers Kev.

    Re: Whos got what

Yeh Kev its always something fixable like a oil hose or connection come loose or a bonnet coming off flat tyres, maybe a hub or 2, all easily fixed.
