Moon Phases

Can anyone tell me when they seem to do they're best fishing. Do you do better on a new moon,full moon or a waning moon? Do you do best on a lowish high or a bigger high? It's just when I go deep sea for a couple of days with my older mates they always seem to want to go out on the lower high tides. Is this because it's darker or because it's slower tidal movement or both? Any opinions would be good on this.
