Bony Breams YUM YUM!!!!
Went to Morgans (Redcliffe Qld) a couple of days ago to get some fish.
While waiting, I had a sticky beak at what else was available.
They looked like bony bream #??? so I asked. #After much consternation and asking around by staff, I was told "yes" and would I like some. #Politely declined.
I wasn't aware that they could be sold commercially given that there is no netting allowed in freshwater lakes / dams.
Mind you, who would want to eat them!!

Hi Luc,
Can be aquacultured (farmed).
Also in rivers & possibly allowed as by-catch.

Hi Reddog,
Bony Breams are a freshwater forage fish present in huge numbers in many of our (Qld) freswater dams.
They are a prime food source for and a major reason why stocked impoundment fisheries for bass and barra are so successful.
If you go to the site below and scroll down, you'll see a photo of one.
