Surf Fishing Pole Chairs

Hi All,

I am trying to find the manafacturer of the chairs you can set up in the surf and climb up like a tennis umpire chairs. I seen them on Rexy and have not been able to find them since. Does anyone know what they are actually called? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi MJ, Saw them on Rexy too. Remember first reading about them over twenty years ago as tripod fishing. Recollect that it was a case of making your own. Three steel pipes hinged & braced with a pad on the end to stop them sinking into the sand. Main problem was that you were stuck there until the tide went out again. Worse than being stuck on a sandbar in a boat as you cant get off to stretch your legs. Regards Bill

They are used a lot in WA. Try Yellow Pages (Perth) for fishing clubs. Might give you a lead or least a photo so you can get one made.

P.S. How far out of the water can a shark leap? ???
