    Re: Cat FFFFFFFFFish

that'd be an american catfish.. where they perform the art of toe wiggling.. they walk across the river wiggling there toes in deep holes then when the catfish latches on, they wrestle it to the surface!

they could make a movie out of that like "Lake Placid" but with a monster cat fish instead of croc.

    Ha ha Tim,
Guess the 200lb wire hanging out of its gob was just to confuse us.

    Yor are right Zeeke...
I don't know if you are familiar with "noodling", but it is the term for
the way Oklahoma guys catch their fish. These guys wade out into the
river and feel for holes or logs on the river floor.
When they find a catfish hole, they stick their hands in there wiggle
their fingers, the cats latch on and the 'idiots' pull out
these monsters. Many people lose their lives each year because of this.
Some fish are so big they literally pull the 'idiot' under.
Snapping turtles and snakes claim their fair share of rednecks too.
Hereare some pictures of what they come out with.

    Re: Cat FFFFFFFFFish

What's the point? For the risk I'd hope they are edible? However, like eels, there's something about catfish that would turn me off eating them regardless.

I've seen huge golden catfish towing people around when fishing at Karumba a few years ago - but that was of the fork-tailed variety unlike these.

Another type of large catfish are called barble. I have a friend at school from South Africa and he's always going on about them.
