    waverider buoy

    looking at the waverider info on brownies
    can anyone explain the following
    -Hmax
    -Hsig
    -Tpeak
    -Tz
    what do they all mean ??

    Hmax - Maximum wave height recorded for the period.

    Hsig - Significant wave height. Average of the highest one third of the wave heights in a recorded time period.

    Tpeak - Peak energy recorded from waves in a specific time.

    Tz - Zero crossing time record - I think this is time recorded between 0.00+ waves.

    I'm pretty sure this is correct - people let me know if not.

    On the wave Rider page http://www.epa.qld.gov.au/environmen...ve_monitoring/ there is a link near the bottom "Glossary" that takes you to the info and explains about the bouys as well as the terminology.
