Skills test No.1 - THE ANSWER!

    Great answers from everybody!
The correct answer is a PAN PAN call along with all the guys who appear to have a damn good idea of first aid!
The difference in a MAYDAY and PAN PAN call is four words "Grave and imminent danger" to the persons on the vessel. Anything that doesn't fall into this category is a PAN PAN call. For example if a boat and its passengers had incurred and ordinary old breakdown, they would simply call AVCG or VMR for help. But if this same boat were slowly drifting towards some dangerous rocks, it might be upgraded to a PAN PAN call. If it is in "imminent danger" of being dashed onto the same rocks, up goes the category to MAYDAY call. If you always remember the "grave and imminent danger", that will usually differentiate between a DISTRESS and URGENCY call.
