    My first flyrod.

    Hey all,

I'm new to this part of AUSFISH. I bought my first flyrod today - a 2pc 9weight black shadow graphite rod with 9 wt intermediate sinking weight forward line.

I'm off to hervey bay on sat for a week and am busting my balls to get into it.

look forward to joining in on some of these posts 8)

    cheers

Plenty of big flatties up there at the moment - great target on fly. Couple of golden trevally around too however they're still not in prolific numbers yet.
Have you cast a flyrod before or is it your first time? If it's your first time, definitely recommend lessons as you're going to get into all sorts of strife otherwise, especially with a line that sinks.
Otherwise, you're going to have a pretty good time!

If you need lesson's mate, go see Harro before you pick up baaaad habits . He'll set you straight on the easy way to cast. You'll be casting like champ in no time .

    cheers Chris
