    Favorite fly's for longtails

    Hi all

Keen to get an idea of your favorite fly's for longtails. Obviously you are trying to match the baitfish sizes that they are chewing at the time, but what colors, patterns do you have most success with.

Also do you strip the fly at high speed, or do you prefer to let it sink and retrieve in a more erratic fashion.

    Look forward to your thoughts

Have heard around the traps that surf candies in various sizes and colours all with a bit of extra epoxy are pretty good, thay have plenty of flash when tied properly and can handle a bit of chewing.

Chris Beech ties a very realistic fly known as an 'Eye Candy'. Essentially a surf candy but clear, minimal flash, prominant eyes , an inch and a half long on a #2 SL12s. Fished fast or slow, depending on the fishs behaviour and thd the way they are feeding, not too many tuna can say no to it.
His details are on my board , which Im not allowed to post details of here so heres his email....
