Thanks for the info moffy. Had a great look at all items. I am getting the clousers done as we speak and some gold bombers as well. I already have a selection of crazy charlies, whistlers, anchovy's, pink things, green clousers, and dell brown permit crabs. Once i get it all together i hope that i will have enough to throw at those fish at weipa. Hoping it well be great as never tried salt water fly fishing. I am taking an 8# and 10# so to cover all angles.

    Cheers moffy and tight lines

Thanks stikezone. Can you tell me what a milkfish fly looks like and i can then get a few to take with me as well. Have you fished weipa????. It sounds like a great place to go and wet a line. Is there any special place you would suggest i go and fish, for these or other fish. Want to do a few days on a boat and 5 days fishing on the flats and beaches. Look forward to hear from you soon.

Small weed flies made from zonk strip or similar, make a few out of different martial. Olive & dark brown is a good color, tied on number 6 & 8 hooks. Boyd's Bay is a good spot to look for them.

Here is one that I caught 10lb. Click on the link below should help you.

there were lots of Milkies hanging around the mouth of Wooldrum creek at weipa all day yesterday - just couldn't get the buggers to take anything - didn't have anything in the way of typical Milkfish flies though.

    Re: weipa saltwater fly's

I'm heading there in late May and planning on taking gold bombers, pink things, clousers, white deceivers big and small and some epoxy candies. #That's more to do with what I can tie rather than what I think I should take though ;-)

I've fished Boyds Bay once before but never knew about the Milkies

    Re: weipa saltwater fly's

    Hi Matt,
White clouses on 1/0 and 2/0 hooks are the go, you could use them 80% of the time, most people run out. Don't forget some poppers, crease flies work well too.

May is about the best time of the year for Milkies, the southern corner of Boyds Bay is where you should find them, around the turtle grass flats.
