hook size for bass fly?

Ive got some size 4 mustard stinger hooks but dont know if they are too big to tie vampires for creek/river size bass ie around the 20 -30 cm size fish?

Why don't you just tie up a few and give them a go. Just remember to keep the proportions right otherwise they may not be as affective. Try doing some crazy patterns which you think would never work. You never know. You might end up with a fly that will work when they are shut down. Should see some of the crazy ones I've tried. Not game to show anyone they are that bad. But its the fun of it.

You don't need anything smaller then #4 for any size Bass, they have very big mouth.
