Transporting Barra Fingerlings
Burdekin Fish Restocking
Was told at the recent Northern Restocking Workshop here in the Burdekin that A.C.E (Ammonia and Chlorine Eliminator) was good for keeping our fingerlings alive on a bit of a journey. Was also told that the guys at the DPI dont like it very much . Anyone got any ideas or experience with the stuff or any other products. Thanks .WHITEY .

Re: Transporting Barra Fingerlings
The less you require products the better. unlees the water quality is poor which in that case i wouldnt recomend transporting untill good water can be sourced. What kind of vessle are you using to transport? How many fingerlings? how far a distance travled? as long as the temperature and DO levels are constant there should really be no need for any additives.

Re: Transporting Barra Fingerlings
Hi guys,
Whitey well in short it does appear to work, but yes Kuhlia i do aggree on the chemicals and personally think proper purgeing is the much better option for transport. DPI,s concerns prob come form the posibility of over use or withholding periods for fish with which this product has been used on tho not sure if this is a concern or not??
