What size fuse
Hi fella's
I recently purchased an older boat and it didn't have any fuses on the electrical system.I purchased a fuse board and have now got protection on all the system except the large wire going to the starter motor, at least that's where I think it goes. The wire is about the size of your little finger and not having any electrical diagrams I'm not sure what size fuse to put on it. It's a 135hp evinrude, thought someone might be able to help
Thanks Maccatak

Re: What size fuse
The main battery/solenoid/starter cable won't and shouldn't have a fuse. There should be an isolating switch on the positive side as close to the battery as possible.
Cheers, Kerry.

Re: What size fuse
Hi All
Not 100% sure but on negitive earth direct current (dc) systems the negitive terminal should always be the one isolated.
As kerry said if the wire is the main power wire, starter etc, it should not be fused, but some have a heavy duty circuit breaker of about 100 amps
cheers
