    solution needed for side scratches

hi guys just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how l can protect the back side corners of my boat from oyster rack scratches , l often fish for bream amongst the racks using an electric motor up front but when the wind blows the back corner hits the racks , it wasnt a problem in the old tinnie but the new cyclones gel coat wont like it . l thought l could hang a protector over the side , or put a stainless steeel plate on the side of the boat . any thoughts would be appreciated

    cheers

the oyster farmers wouldn't be thrilled that your bumping their racks around. you need to be more carefull or you could end up with farmers baning access to the racks alltogether. the tinny is lite, but the cyclone is heavy, it will give the rack more than just a nudge. drive safe!
    then it realy gets ughly

out of respect l take all care not to hit the racks and lm not aware of any damage being done . We meet the oyster farmers constantly and so far non have commented on damage . last week 32 boats rack fished in a bream comp at batemans bay most of the boats are 4.5 m hornets and most have some degree of scratching from the racks . impacts dont happen that often and it usually happens when the boats are barely moving . if my boat causes any damage to racks l will stop fishing them

    Hi Spike,
You need some used conveyor belt material. New, it is about $15 per metre, 600mm wide. Used will be less than half price.
Put a skirt around the back corners of your rig & the problem should be solved.
    ROLL TIDE, ROLL.................

    Regards,

    Peterbo3,
Thank goodness there are some positive members around. Great solution,to the problem. As if the racks dont get a little bump for the owners in any case.

The Cyclone 540 of Spikes is no heavier than some of the tin rigs casting the racks.
    Good cheap solution there Peterbo
