HOW DO YOU REMOVE OLD BOAT DECALS?

Have bought some ausfish stickers and Im wanting to place them where the old crusader emblem is. Not sure how to remove the old sticker without scratching the gelcoat. Also what product should I use to remove the fade (outline of the old decal) from the gelcoat once the decal has been removed?

Soften the old decal by using a hair dryer and it should just peel off. Any adhesive left, use Isocol or Eucalyptus oil and some elbow grease and it will clean off.

yep the old hair dryer works well but use prepsol or something similar to remove all traces of goo, polish and oil before applying the new ones. They stay on longer if there is a good impurity free bond.
Pity you cannot leave the old stickers on. Comes in handy if your like me and forget what type of boat you have. ???
