hi silent,
is the sea wasp a 445F? if so i know they are a very sought after hull. stable and beamy and good rough water capabilities for a relatively small boat.
i am in the process of rebuilding one myself at the moment.

i remember the seawasp now. a mate of a mate in mackay had one and he loved it. used to run out to the islands 20NM offshore in it when the weather was right.
i plan on using my 445 just as a creek boat, but i have no doubt it could run to the reef if i wanted. i bought it from a mate who used to use it out around the palm group of islands off lucinda all the time.

I got one of these with a 25 jonno on the back.....any o e done something to strenthen the transom?
They are a great little boat. I have a Cootacraft little ram which is a Sea Wasp flop (much better built, composite, hand laid, foam filled).
They are very capable but still a very small boat. Not much room but they ride beautifully in chop..I use it mainly to pull pots, dive and fish off shore (but stay within a few kms). I have a 50hp 2 stroke on it. You want to keep the motor weight to a bare min so bigger 4 strokes aren't balanced as well (too arse heavy).
You do Moreton but def would need to pick your days.
Yep gotta agree with you about bieng a great little boat...
Have it 10 years not and mainly fish Bribie passage ....and time for a repower
Thinking I'll have the do something with the transom before fitting a 50
Bloody hell just saw this is an old thread!
I was surprised myself when it turned up in a google search
