yep, a pair of 175's would get you up on the plane quick enough I would reckon, they were a great boat with god knows how many hours on them, in the hands of rough and tumble divers and netters and rec fishos with big power plants and so on, neglected and flogged to death, but they just kept on going, sure the knockers can think of a dozen things that is bad about a Cat, but Jesus, get that 175HP a side and put it up against a new "platey" with a 4 stroke and the difference would be laughable! but the platey and the 4 stroke will be nice and well finished and quiet, but still not even in the same league when it comes to outright "balls"

    Noel,

Did you see the centre console converted 560 for sale a little while ago on the Goldie?

It was the same model as in the EBAY link, with a cut off deck, professionally made side decks, custom made centre console with t-top, pods ect.

It was a great rig which looked a million bucks.

He repowered it with twin Yammy 60 Bigfoot four strokes, which would be very cheap to run but average in performance.

It's still seen around here on the coast ocassionally.

    Regards

    Darren

no, can't say as I did see that, I have seen one done before, but it was a pretty shabby conversion.

    Noel,

Grab a 560 Cuddy and bring it up here ... lets see what we can do with it

I know where I can get hold of one quite cheap, that's what made me think of the whole idea, I guess even if it was the very early model it would not make a great deal of difference, because the deck would be removed anyway!, and the ones with the windscreen right at the bow would maybe be the best of all, simply because the fore deck is only about a metre long.

HHMM, just had another brainwave, I wonder what ever happened to the original deck mould and console mould for the centre console? now that would make life easier, but who knows if it would be better huh!

Personally, I would mould up a centre cab version.
Plenty of dry storage and a place to lay down if needed.

Make the top of the cab into a useable work area.
