Marlin---- on your searches have you come across a leg( small size) for about 25 hp motor?
Or anyone has one or know of one?

    Cant say I have Ahoj

Sharkcat 23 ... My cat is certainly daunting behind the Triton ... top speed of 30k's when towing with permit.

It wouldnt be hard to get the "tail to wag the dog" in this case if you werent super careful.

    Cheers

Fair Dinkum ... 2 months since last post

Way behind estimated finish time, but I guess thats life when you are busy at work.

    Ok ... whats new?

The new motor is in, just have to adjust the mounting points, and reconfigure the hydraulic steering, as this new leg is slightly different to the old one.

I sold the old motor and the legs I bought from Sydney.

This has really worked out well.
Remember I said it was going to cost $10 grand + to rebuild the old leg...

Well in the overall scheme of things, it has only cost me $7 grand to change over to the new motor and leg

I have repainted the sink / cupboards in the cabin, and I have fitted the new carbon fibre doors.

I have most of the cabin lining in the main part of the cabin.

I have bought the LED cabin lights, LED nav lights, 27Mhz & VHF radios and aerials.

The boat has been totally stripped down and the bow rails etc all removed.

I have today started sanding back ready for paint.

There is probably 2 - 3 days work left sanding and filling.

I will have more pics tomorrow, I just have to resize them.

    Cheers

    Pete

    G'day Pete

a paint question if I may, the bro-in-law's 560 Sportsman has been 2 pac polyurethaned yonks ago and is looking real sad. it's SAR yellow top and bottom like yours.

is much prep needed, or just a rough-up to allow another poly 2 pac to bond?
hoping not to have to take it all back to original gelcoat.

    thanks
    Steve.

    Re: Sharkat 700 Rebuild

    G'day Steve,

A rough up and repaint should be all that is necessary.

The old 2 pac acts as a good primer for the new 2 pac to stick to.

Just run it by Lippa, he will know more than me

    Cheers

    Re: Sharkat 700 Rebuild

I have worked out why its not finished yet.....

He is still working out how to tow the thing..... I am sure he would have filled his pants towing her with the triton. Not to mention that the triton is probably bent and wont drive straight anymore!!!
