    Re: Sharkat 700 Rebuild

    Hey GM,

Just checked in for my dose.

I take it I've earnt a spot as deckie???

Hope to see her running soon, sounds like you did pretty well money wise on the petrols anyway, so you can't really lose.

    Regards

    Darren

    G'day Darren,

The petrol legs were perfect, and will be worth a bit more than I paid for them (hopefully)

Yes you have earned a deckies spot ... you may even get to sit on the captains knee

    Cheers

    Pete

    Hey Pete,
I recon the first non deckie spot, holiday type bloke should be me,seeing as how we wouldnt be able to cross the bar, without reference to my expertise.
Good to hear the project is progressing well.

    Re: Sharkat 700 Rebuild

Ahhh ... looks like no shortage of deckies

You are all most welcome when the time comes.

Pete, a 6m Stabicraft would look very neat swinging off davits on the back of the cat

    Anyway....

Have been busy on the weekend changing all the gauges, rewiring (again) and getting the motor well ready for the new donk.

Here are a couple of pics of the latest changes.

Engine well as I took the old motor out ... there is literally an inch of oil, dirt, crap and various items that had been lost forever .... spare bilge pump, 2 sidchrome spanners, multiple hose clamps and nuts / bolts.

And after a scrub up, some replacement rotted plywood surrounds, some fibreglassing and a re-flowcoat job.

I bought her home as the motor will be fitted just down the road....

I dont think 23 Shark Cats were designed for urban living

    G'day
Hey pete.... those sidchrome spanners must be a bonus!!! throw them on ebay as "vintage sharkcat branded limited edition sidchrome spanners???" May even pay for your rebuild?

Now I know what you were talking about with the height of the house.......time to put a second story on or a shed with a really high roof?

Nice job on the engine bay aswell..... I still think the tunnel of the cat will look good with some neon lights...

    Hi Pete,

I do remember looking up at your boat and thinking that it was bigger than a house, and there you go... !

The Stabi would go well as a tender I'm sure!

    cheers, Pete.
