    Re: transducer position

Have you got a picture side on??
Looks like there's a little dag in the weld that may cause a problem but I'll wait 'til a side on picture comes as the rearward angle is usually the problem if there is a problem.
Personally I would have put it towards the right about an inch or so.
Have you tried the gain to see if that makes any difference??

    Re: transducer position

my guess is that its the strake,
i think on most install sheets it says not to put inline with strakes

you could shift it over to the smooth section of hull , by screwing on a bigger plate to what you have now and see

    Re: transducer position

Jacks right about the strakers or chines but I was trying to work with what you have first.
3-4000 revs, what speed are you doing??
I'm thinking you may be doing pretty good anyways with the sounder working up to that speed.
Tinnies are a lot worse for bubbles under the boat then glass. ie sounder funny readings.

    Re: transducer position

You could try tilting your transducer slightly forward. Maybe you are going too fast for the return echo..

    Re: transducer position

Tilt down, up would make it worse...

Try a couple of degrees at a time..
