G' Day Fella's

This was caught at about 11.50am at mulwala down from Majors Creek ramp, On a Frog colour Oar-gee 30+, It was during the Cod Classic 2003, there is a long story to this capture, and to keep it short, it was the biggest ever to be caught in the comp, only NOT to be scored because it couldn't be revived, i spent around 4 1/2hrs trying.

It mesured 1210mm and weighed 33kg. Caught on 17lb quality mono.
It was an awesome fish, but very sad not to see it swim away.

i thank you for the coments, and it was a shame, but i think it had something to do with its swim bladder, while it was under the snag, i reckon it has inflated its self, it was swimming sort of like it had floaties on,,, i really can't describe how it was, but if we had of had a fish quack in the comp, we may of been able to save it by trying to deflate the bladder.

it may also be in the next fresh water fishing mag wich should be cool.

That's one heck of a big fish. I lost one once that was only 9 kg (Mary River cod) after swimming it for over 2 hours. It can be very hard to revive a big fish if they've come from deep water & pulled up through a thermocline.That & a long battle (causing lacticacidosis).

Get em in quick & get em back quicker.
