Benchmark Barra for 14 Year old Fisho

This was my young fellas first Barra caught at Peter Faust Dam, Prosepine, 30lb Berkely Gorilla Braid and an Old Darwin Dart Lure. #15 minute fight and did everything expected of a quality fish, jumped, ran, tried busting him off, but he held on and after some coaching the result was as follows

116cm 22.5kg and #one tired but very happy boy (earned his first beer, but couldn't hold it too long - tired arms).


Whats more he took out the comp and beat all the adults to boot..

Big future ahead of him, if he keeps this up.

Yeah lets me know it everytime we hook up to go fishing (Still out fishing me at this stage - must be teaching him something right). Hope to show him some quality barra on sunday down at the Haughton River

Fantastic fish for the young bloke!! Isn't it great when you're sons, or daughters, kick your bum in the fishing stakes It makes it all worth while. My 14 year old Josh is constantly doing it and loving every bit of it

So there's the pic I've been wanting to see . Great stuff, nice angry looking fish too. 1 beer? Is that all? He should of downed a 6 pack after that . He'll have a ball at the Barra Bash mate, wouldnt be too suprised if he took out the Juniours.

Great catch mate, That is a fish any fisho would be proud of. I am gonna take my 13yo out chasing dam barra soon(his first time) Might have to tie him to the boat in case something the size of yours come along.cheers, steve.
