Thread: Swanbank?

    Swanbank?

I'm thinking of giving it a try. It's supposedly stocked, but I never hear any reports from there. Anyone ever fished it?

I think it is unlawful to fish there.

I also believe that the lake is badly polluted.

I used to swim there all the time when i was a kid (20-25yrs ago) they had a proper swimming area but drove past a while back and signs everywhere about blue green algae even the bbq area looked downgraded don't think it gets too much use anymore. looking at the water I wouldn't go within 20 feet of it. Hope this helps.

    Guys,
Swanbank runs off of Bundamba Ck, have caught native bass in the creek downstream, have heard of locals letting barra go in lake however winter may have knocked them around, water from moogerah was and possibly still is used to keep up supply for station, the water is healthy and so are the fish population, mullet, spangled perch etc, no troph fish that I know of though, spend some more money and fish an impoundment

    Cheers

Plenty of big Yella's and probably Silver's stocked by CS Energy years ago. We're trying to come to an agreement with them to create a stocking program. Rumoured to be Saratoga in there, but not confirmed, please release them if you get one. Hale Street Quarry in Ippy has recently been stocked as well. They killed a couple of tonne of Tilapia and released natives, but they'll take a coupla years to grow.
