Esscot Lodge Burketown

Hi everyone,
we are going up to Asscot Lodge early next month for a look around. I was wondering if any of you have been fishing there. Im told it is fresh water near the lodge but turnes to salt further down the Nicholson river.
I was wondering if it's worth my while heading up stream to look for sooties and saratoga. The blokes at work reckon I'm a few roo's short in the top paddock chasing them instead of the barra in the salt.
May is a little late to be luring but this trip is sort of just to check it out for later in the year.
