Bread for bream

I went fishing with the father in law the other day inbetween tides and around dusk. He caught about 20 bream-a few of them up over the 30cm mark to my 4-no keepers. I was using gar,mullet and fresh prawns and hardly even getting a touch whereas he was getting hit every cast. He just takes a quarter of a slice without the crust and moulds it on to the hook with the barb showing. Does anyone else use bread?

BTW He was using a stick that you could use for good sized sharks and about 30lb mono to my braided chronarch on a light ugly stick. It nearly made me pull my hair out.

mate nice loaf of Pasta Dura or a good fresh Vienna Loaf.
Forget about garlic bread ey.
Oh yes forgot. Slice down the middle, fill centre with some nice Salami,tomato, cucumber, lettuce, a chilli or two.

I have heard of some big bream being caught by people using bread and dough while fishing for mullet. Have used bread for berly and it seems to work for everything. I am going to give bullocks heart a go for bream down brunswick once the fresh starts to clear and the cold starts. Another month I am told

I use bread for bream and drummer fishing of the rocks .I also berley up with bread. The bread is cut in half without the crust and then wraped around the sharft of the hook and the line and then squeezed. Pull on the line slightly so the bread slides down onto the hook leaving the point and the barb exposed. Just the weight of the bread alone is enough to cast.
