NZ Snapper???

Just returned from a quick jaunt to NZ. Couldn't get a fish in but managed to visit the Aquarium in Auckland. The snapper in the main tank were huge. Through the perspex they looked at least 80cm + and very very thick. These things did not have the humps / bumps on the head I've seen on large snapper from Qld and NSW. They just looked like mega squire.
Curious to know if this a different species. Maybe someone can shed some light on whether it is or if diet, water conditions etc that cause this.

The snapper from N.Z. are the same species we have here .There is a lot of snapper exported to Aust from there
The lump on the mellon is dependant on the food source that they eat wether smashing shells or feeding on the gravel,baitfish whatever is most abundant
