Re: Land based around townsville????
Hi there,
Try these spots:
Strand - Rock Pool Wall, Jetty or any of the headlands
Ross Creek - Breakwall along Casino or Jetty next to Motor boat Club Plume St
Ross River - Jetty 5th Ave, might be 6th, next to Police Boat, Rock wall at National Park Ramp
Palleranda - 3 mile Creek, All along the beach, northern end yellow zone.
I would suggest popping into 0ne of the local tackleshops. They have very good mub maps, free, and will point you in the right direction,
Try Higgos. 7 to 7. Protackle of Tackle Warehouse

Barry and the Scroman give good advice. If you like sharks, rays and catfish, the beaches north of Townsville are excellent! Your best bet is to walk the beaches at low tide and mark interesting structures that might attract fish at high tide. The creek entrances should be really good once the dirt settles from the current rains.

Re: Land based around townsville????
thanks for the tips,
i hav tried the strand jetty, bushland beach, and a few beaches north of townsville including balgal and tummulla.
BUt pallarenda i haven't given much of a go, and i have never fished in 3 mile there, so is there any specific spots that fire alot or is it just the whole creek.
thanks

Scroman
Have you ever thought that the reason you were the only one there is that the locals know something you don't. ... "gators".
I have a friend who walks his dog at Bushland Beach every morning and afternoon and has seen a few decent sized "lizards" cruising the flats.
Regards... David
