Re: Espandito SPANISH Mackerel
Hi John
I`m very interested to know what type of rod and reel you use to catch these mega macks.

Reggy, nothing fancy about my gear. rods are actually both wilson live fibres. 15 kg rod with a TLD 20, 600 metres of 80 lb bluewater spiderwire braid, and a 24 kg rod with an old penn senator 114h 6/0 overshot with 300 metres of 80 lb jigman-x braid, the multi-coloured stuff! The braid works a treat, great for hooking fish, great sensitivity for those cagey fish that gently nudge your bait sometimes,(allows you to try to stimulate a strike from those fish, it gives you more warning), also allows direct movement of your baits with each rod twitch/pull etc. fine braid, has not got the stretch like mono.
cheers,
