Re: mystery fish
Scat are veggie eaters. Aquariam owners in the UK love to sell 'm 'cause their biggest mark up is on plants and the scats eat the plants and the cycle goes on
Smaller specimens can be caught anywhere you catch Luderick and they can be acclimatised to freshwater over a period of time.
Good chewin but watch the spines when you fillet........they sting even after death.

I was fishing the sandpumping jetty a while back and there was a heap of the fish you described schooling around, some young teens turned up and were jagging them (and anyone else standing too close!!!!) the fish turned out to be big Luderick. My dad used to call them white travellers, silver with black bars normally bloody huge

Re: mystery fish
Hey guys, I saw them myself fishing there in November. A big school that would just fin about and occasionally break the surface. My guess was for luderick and 40cm+. I had no luck hooking one.
At least someone finally caught one, round 2 goes to the fishermen!
