No mate, the knot slips through until it catches on the mushroom head. Once it is there it will go no further. Then you can put as much pressure on it as you wish.......I love this shot.

Dunno mate, this knot was shown to me be the "experts" and has never failed yet so I see no reason to change it.

It should be good when you come out Banana Boy........NO BANANAS!!!!!

so these pre made rigs just need to be put on a heavy duty split ring with another solid ring for the leader?

    WD,

That jigging rod you built, what blank was it built on and where did you get the blank from? I would be into building myself a rod as well, rod DIY is good fun [smiley=2thumbsup.gif] [smiley=2thumbsup.gif] [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

Don't worry about the bananas, I have learnt the lesson now

I havenít used that set up yet, but I think you would use a loop-to-loop type connection to a brass ring and then onto a split ring.

    Re: jigging

Any reason you couldn't just loop that red cord in the jig without the ring and split ring?
    Just curious.
    Cheers

    Re: jigging

Your rig looks all right, but I would be upping the size of the split ring. Like George said split ring onto the jig, and the leader onto the other brass ring. Most guys use a Uni knot to tie the jig onto the leader but I have started crimping them, and putting some Loctite 406 on as well, I'm a big fan of over kill.
