Wello sweeties maybe last chance

Hi Folks........Tomorrow is looking promising for an assult on the sweetlip population, weather forecast 10 to 15 S/E early then freshening to 20 knots during the day.
Just might be our last chance to catch a feed of Gassies before they head back up the coast to warmer waters.......Im talking about the 35 cm + specimens..........The small ones seem to stay around all year long.
Not the best tide for them tomorrow but hey getting on the water at first light may be able to snare the odd one or two.

Hope the wind holds off till midday......im going to be at Wello from sun up till around noon.......prefer an incoming tide!!
Not much run in the tide tomorrow so should get away without using lead........just float that squid down nice and gently and then hang on.
You won't see my boat tomorrow.......going out in a mates small crest craft.

ps Vertico if your going out to the Rouse wall make sure you head back before that predicted 20 knots of S/E kicks in.....it will be a slow and bumpy ride home mate.........did that last week..lol

Was down at Fishermans Island for work early this week and Whyte Island Ramp looked to be open.
Carpark looked finished.

i got out saturday morning about 0730.
here we are enroute raby bay to harrys
4000rpm @ 31 kts good in the conditions.

the chopper squad was in full force. went up to
a 5/0 hook to eliminate them, but re-baiting
every 5 secs after it hit bottom became tedious.

even worse was the conditions which steadily increased
to about 20+ kts at lunchtime. oh well, bumpy trip to
wello which was a white cap washing machine (damn).
back to the ramp for zero catch, but good to get out all
the same.

I was at Harrys(about 100m north) when you pulled up.
I got there 2am No keepers, small bream,squire & sharks.
