may i ask where you stayed while you were there... and cost per night. i am planning a trip up north at easter next year and not sure on where to go and where to stay.
Jeffo,
Not sure if you are having a boys trip or a family trip but
The hotel has a bunk house now for $45-per night - Double bed on bottom single on top donga's with shared toilet
Otherwise Wanderers Village have camping or units for $55-pn nothing special but quite comfortable with double bed and two singles.

Hi Jeffo
We stayed at Wanderers Village in a cabin got a good rate because we stayed 2 weeks and booked well in advance me my brother and my two boys, nice and clean good shower and cooking facilities, mind you we barbequed breakfast lunch and tea only had 1 meal across the pub not paying $25 for a rump, they were also charging that for a fish meal
We took our tucker box freezer and “filled it” we all had a ball but a long drive from the Gold Coast and a descent boat is a must you have to get out amongst it
Cheers Steve---
I will post a few more pics
i was there middle of last year. Stayedin an apartment $55 a night i think. Fully self contained, laundry, kitchen, etc etc. Real good value for money.
