    Also the larger ones are males and have minimun impact on future stocks, unlike flathead and barra where females are the larger fish

    The blue spot trout, also known as the chinese footballer trout are a different species
    with a size limit of 50cm min- 80cm max. As opposed to 38cm min size on all other trout species. The blue spots can not be filleted at sea either, even if the fillet is longer than 40cm.

    Yeah, I was just questioning the name blue spot trout because they all have a blue spot somewhere on the fish. Isn't it ironic that they actually name the most distinguishable trout (the footballer, because of it's unique colour stripes) the blue spot.
    Tony, you might have to change your name to Agnes Trout soon. Seems you are bagging more trout then jacks, or has the weather been to good to restrict yourself to the creeks?
