believe it or not i have seen bigger. they grow pretty big
According to the "Search Fish Base", they grow to 15kg and 1.2 m. The local fishos around Mackay are getting them to about 22 kg.

However, Grant's Guide gives 700lbs and a length of 7 ft????!!!
Nice Cod mate, noticed your rod and reel in the background, I have the same combo also, not my most expensive but always seems to get the best fish of the day. Well done.

no idea but what a catch top fish
Have actually caught one of Townsville (Burdekin Rock) some years ago, about 5-6 ft long approx 80+ kg. also there was one caught off the new jetty on the strand that was estimated to be 100+kg.

i was a good rod for the price, but not anymore..i broke it out on the reef, high sticked it..my fault..so now, unfortunatly i had to upgrade to a tyrnos outfit
They grow bigger mate ,much bigger.by the way how much chance you gave that one to survive? You have been better off eating it.
