Yes Matt , Jew are bigger , but when you pick up a good size Jew are you worried about losing a finger if it latches onto you?

Or maybe I'm a little bit gutless when I pickup a Jack

    Good Days!

My wife and I visited your beautiful country on April, 05 and had a great time. Australia is really a wonderful place and we hope to spend a couple years exploring down under once we are done working in the US (hopefully not too much longer!). Being an avid fisherman all my life, wetting a line was of course top on my agenda during our visit. After getting my opportunities at Mission Beach, Port Douglas, and Hervey Bay I did manage to catch a few of the species I[ch8217]ve been reading about in this and other great aussie fishing sites. My catches included breams, whitings, a flathead, a few grass sweetlips, a spangle emperor, a big chinaman fish (I thought it was a joke when they told me the name of this fish), and yes a nice mangrove jack (see attached). I was out on a share charter at Hervey Bay two days in a roll trying to catch a coral trout but had no success. On the 2nd day fishing at a location called Rooney Point, on the very last drop of my Australia trip using a live [ch8220]pikey? small barracuda[ch8221], I was rewarded with this beautiful MJ, my best catch of the trip. I can[ch8217]t wait to return and try my luck on many other species. In the meant time, I will keep reading your fishing reports.

    Cheers. Andrew
