I dont know either to be honest, alot them are built i guess to exceed the toughest terrains, which how many people would actually do? The only problem with mine is the low tow point i have on the cruiser, which gives about 50cms clearance at the lowest point, and the length of the whole van, but like i said has been everywhere and did it easily.

I had a look for ages and decided a camper is great, but its basically a tent on a trailer IMO(im not meaning to offend the owners of these either). The bed is really the only thing off the ground in them, whereas pop tops have a fridge, stove, sink, table for 4, a lounge and 2 double beds all under roof and off the ground.

Dont get me wrong, the are fairly cheap for the basic ones, but a Kimberley Camper wont give you much chage out of 20k. And i think when i do a cape trip i would go for one to hire or something..

Cheers
