Battery Acid spilt in the camper trailer

    Hi Folks,

I store one battery in utility box on the camper trailer.. .Last trip I noticied that some acid had spilt ... I have washed the box out with water, dried it then sprayed a half can inox ... I do see some acid crust reforming ... What to do ...

Any thoughts.... ( Apart from a sealed battery )

First off get in there with a wire brush and remove any rust/acid scale.
Next up spray with some rust converter and wash with clean water.
Last but not least, get your hands on some POR15 and apply a few coats to the utility box.

You can substitute the POR15 with another enamel primer but the POR15 is the best you can buy. If you do deciede to buy some POR15, buy some of their Metal Ready at the same time. Metal Ready is their rust converter.

Use hot water as well with the above.

You can also spray your battery terminals with Lithium grease which will stop the buildup forming after you have cleaned it up.

    Wardy.
