Hi Dignity, the bartail are better eating than the Dusky but i dont bother killing them, i caught one 2 weeks ago that was 45cm, that is good for the species, i went out chasing winter Whiting a while back 2klm out from the Bribie bridge and it was lousy with little Bartail, had to move to get away from them, and just on the poor size of the Dusky this year,i caught one 72 cm in late May, previous to that fish the last 70cm plus fish i caught was around 8 years ago, since then i would have caught 1500 plus Flathead before i caught that 72 cm model, for whatever reason the Passage and the Pine river dont seem to hold bigger fish.
