    What knife ?
Give a man a fish & he will eat for a day !
    Teach him how to fish
& he will sit in a boat - & drink beer all day!

Had a Dexter Green river knife with a similar blade 30 years ago.....blade didn't hold an edge that well but very nice to use when sharp.

Looks a bit like my Giesser commercial grade filleter.
Shame I never catch anything worth filleting.

Nothing wrong with a Dexter Russell - a lot of pro fishers & butchers use them

I have one with a similar 8" blade and its my go to filleting knife

    Re: knife

Yep used these back in the old days of fishing and whilst i thought it was a good knife i still had to take to it with a steel to keep the edge tuned up.
Nowdays i strop rather than steel ( leather or denim strop ) and if i need to more or less steel a knife it would be with a fine ceramic rod type and strop with it get your burr back where it should be ..
Dexter Russel had a good name and believe they may still do..
