How do you judge it a success... Like your transom, is it a sucess if doesnt crack after one trip or does it need to last 100 trips?

What about the welds on your trailer, anyone can lay down bird sh1t that'll last a while...

Its your boat, your trailer...if you call it a success then what does it matter what anyone else thinks? Im just glad I live in CQ so im nowhere near you towing or boating!

Have a top day pigeon gaz!

I guess like lots of things, there's different ways to achieve the same result, some things require Government approval along the way (like building a house) some things just require an authorised representative to inspect the finished item (a box trailer and blue slip) and some things can be cobbled together with duct tape and glue (a boat) and no one cares. This is all different to a commercial business building stuff to sell of course.

Does one need to post a new topic every time he has a thought on something
when it could be added to another long rambling existing thread

Facebook type posting shits up this forum

You can't judge the outcome if you never complete the task. Sorry in this case the journey isn't the point.

The question is so simple yet its mind bogling ya's cant answer it, may it be the answer is so simple and clear that it goes against what most have discussed previously and contradicts your views?

The pigeons are in a cage..

If the outcome is exactly the same it doesnt matter how you got there.

What we are saying is just because you end up with a new transom it doesnt mean its a good one or going to last.

I know the answer you want... But in this case you're comparing a dirty old roof pigeon to a a wedge tailed eagle so you're not getting it here.

Not sure how to spell it out any more clearly.... Coo cooo cooo

You aren't some sage like Neo red pill blue pill truth seeing hero Gaz. You are a backyard hack with a leaky old boat and a JB Welded together outboard.

If you want to discuss outcomes based assessment at this point you have failed. Your stated outcome was to turn a old cabin boat into a US style centre console offshore fishing boat. You haven't achieved that outcome so there isn't any point in discussing the pro's and con's of methods.
