Re: Mercury are making an announcement

Been doing the rounds for a while, as usual, everyone "knows" heard from a friend of their uncles sister.....so far, full electric 600HP+, diesel electric, azipod drive on the bottom of a conventional outboard, a V10, a V12, a new 500HP V8, someone has to be right, eventually.
edit, I forgot, a supercharged V8 putting out 628HP, and Mercury buying Evinrude and making 2 strokes again.

Almost everything on the hull truth is hilarious, there is only one way or point of view, and that's the American way...the end.

I hear it's a rotary. With an electric supercharger. Running bio-diesel.

You heard it here first, folks.

Try suggesting going more than 5 nautical miles offshore with less than 3 outboards...

it does seem "via tht" that patents for axipods style rotating lower units may be to go
pretty much else isnt exactly "shaking up the market" we have had big displayment , high horsepower, supercharged, eletric, diesel outboats all recently.. so.......we shall see

If they were smart they would develop diesel outboards in the 50 to 200hp range...

I'm not too sure diesel is the future, it's simply an adaption of the petrol engine, still relying on fossil fuel, and the industry that gets it out of the ground, refines it then transports to the local garage.

Diesel is on the way out with smaller passenger vehicles, large manufacturers have dropped it/are dropping it, can't see any future for diesel outboards. They have to meet the same emission standards, no room for a DPF in there
