2005 Quintrex 420 Dory, when did Quintrex move to 3mm bottom ally?

As above, I have a tidy package on offer with a 30hp 4 stroke yamaha, it is 2009.

I figure it would make an ok Bay fisher boat, the entry looks ok for small chop. Just not sure they ally and welds will hold up to it. My mates 2010 Dart kept needing to go back for welds as the Keel line kept cracking in the welds.

The Dart and the Dory are very different boats, the Dart is very light construction, the Dory is more robust by comparison.

small chop is the killer of small tinnies

Yes I agree re chop, although NZ tinnies are made of 4mm plate at 14ft. Something I see Quintrex has slowly moved to, so that is why I am curious when did this move occur and when did it change the 420 Dory line?

Hopefully somebody can answer this question.

But on another question, is the hull suitable as a bay/inshore fisher?
