    Dead live tank

Just a quick question for those with some plumbing knowledge...
Repairing a split seam on my very large ali live tank, It's a corner that's come apart so I'm thinking sikafl;ex but there seem to be a thousand varieties. Suggestions please?

    How large is the tank?
If the alloy weld has split I doubt you will be able to get a very long life out of silicone unless you put a large concave bead inside along the seam...
Every litre of water is 1 kg that it hammering the tank with every bump as you travel....3g's of force per litre (3kg per litre) with a decent bunt into the ocean.

Just get it welded again, repair completed, use silicon and shit is just a patch at best and will make welding later harder.

Sheik i take it u have found that rattle noise, get it welded as Noel said if u use silicone it will make the job harder for the welder, aluminium needs to be really clean to weld otherwise all the contamination comesup in the weld pool and it looks really ugly

I know one of the best but he's at Moffat Beach. There are a couple at Brendale but I'd have to go back into some old records to find them.

Welding a bait tank doesn't really need a specialist, any fab shop could do it for you.
