Condensation in hour gauge

Hi all
I have condensation in my Mercury hour gauge and despite a lot of googling I can't come up with a solution to remove it. Thought the prolonged dry spell especially over summer may have helped but unfortunately no.The glass and its surround seem to be a little loose.
Anybody have any idea how to get it out and keep it out?

I have a similar issue.

At some point moisture and possibly some dust have got inside. It looks like if i could get it open i could just wipe it clean. But i cant see anyway of opening it and being able to put it back togeather again.
