    Mooloolaba deep drop success

    Hi all.
After a few deep drop trips yielding not much, Nick and I headed out for another crack on Thursday.

Left Mooloolaba around 5am and had the first drop at around 7-30.
Once we found the drift line, repositioned, dropped again, and pulled up a nice 12kg bar cod.

Another couple of drops, and we got a bigger cod at around 22kg.

Picked up a little Nannie as well, happy to see a little colour come up.

went for a bit of a prospect, dropping every now and then with nothing else.

stopped in on my snapper spot on the way home. Found them chewing well, getting 3 fish quick, then got sharked in the next two fish, and different get another bite after that. We have never had shark issues here before, so I hope it is just a one off.

it was great to finally get some fish out of the deep. Having all the gear work well, and hold together was great. It is definitely a different style of fishing, and I don’t think it is for everyone, but I find it quite rewarding.

    Cheers Rob.

Well done, it's nice when a plan comes together, tomorrow and Tuesday should be better moon and tide wise.
    I wish I
could have gone out but putting a new fuel tank in and took the sheet bender a month to do the job. Yesterday looked like a cracker day out there.
